Akha hill tribe

We then move onto the Akha hilltribe. Originally from Tibet they moved to China and then to Thai/Burma area early in the 1900s.

They have their set up arranged differently, again we pay to be shown around and are entered into their receipt book. We are taken to an area away from their houses and shown their methods of hunting and trapping, then past a rickety high swing. On through the village gates. They believe when anyone passes through them they leave any bad things outside the village, these gates are ceremoniously renewed each year. Here we see a blacksmith at work and view a small, solemn and stately music and dance display which they do just for us as again we are the only people there.

We walk back past their bamboo clad houses to our 21st century.
